seems a friend of mine has made an enemy and is getting nasty emails from a yahoo account...... is there a way to trace this sick idiot???

Best thing is either just report the e-mails to yahoo or/and block the sender so you don't get anymore from that address.

All ISP's have policies on abuse and abusive e-mail. Indeed, it is considered close to stalking now in many circles. Look at the Yahoo help pages and I'm sure there'll be a way to report the SOB who is doing it to the administrators. He might have to kick and scream a bit, but they do do things if you persist.

Unless he knows who's really sending the mail, he can't report to an ISP. Most of that stuff is spoofed. Spamcop can see right through spoofing and pick out the real source. You can report it directly from there with comments or use the info that you glean to contact the originating ISP yourself.

Very true, you often have to cut the BS off it before you can get the required info.
