I am just curious to see whether in computing terms it is a Tetra byte or a Tera byte (the one above Giga byte...).
I thought it was tetra but my brother's math textbook saye it is tera & so does the dictionary. I Remember in Electronics that it was Tetra though.

thanx,

Definitely terabyte. Tetra means four (as in tetrahedron).

Just to confuse the topic even further....

The ISO defines the prefix "tera" as meaning one trillion, just as it defines "giga" as one billion, "mega" as one million and "kilo" as one thousand. BUT....

In computer terminology, one kilobyte is 1024 bytes, one megabyte is 1024^2 bytes (1048576). One gigabyte is 1024^3 bytes (1073741824) and one terabyte is 1024^4 bytes (1099511627776).
