Hi
i'm just giving my system an overhaul and i need to ask a question about PSU's. Im gonna be running a
Duron 700
Abit Kt7
128MB 100MHz RAM
GlobalWin Fop38
PCI Geforce2 MX
9Gig HDD
standard floppy
and a 32x CDrom drive.
Would i get away with a 235W PSU with this setup? I'm aware that AMD say that 300W is the minimum (or is it 250?) but would 235 suffice. If it did that would save me money that could be spent on stuff for Ocing me Gfx card (blue orb etc)
oh, in case you think "why won't you just save for a bit and then buy?" i'm only 15. all this is gonna be ordered from the net and my mum is payin half of it. Even if i do shell out, say , £300 of my own money it has to go through her credit card and when she sees it she will be all "no Sean, thats FAR too much money blah blah.." so please spare me a thought!

You'd probably be able to get away with that, so long as you don't have too many other things running off the power supply (fans, cards, etc.). If you look at AMD's recommended power supplys, they go as low as 150 watts (although I wouldn't recommend going that far down).
