Hello Friends;

I am in need of some help in what would seem to be a simple task, and yet I just can't seem to figure it out!!!

I am running Win me and I want to delete my C:\Restore files that are taking up way too much room on my harddrive. I have gone into C:\Windows\System\Restore, but from there I am not sure what files I am supposed to delete without causing any disaster beyond repair.
If anyone out there could pleeease give me the correct info on the files that I should, or should not delete I would greatly appreciate it , as will my soon to be slimmed down harddrive.
I am not a computer genius, but not a newbie so if you could give me somewhat , detailed instructions, I would be grateful.
I have used the forum before, with great success, for other assistance and know that there are many wonderful friends out there to offer help on just about anything, so I look forward to hearing from you and fixing my dilemna in the very near future.

Thanks in advance;

If memory serves well! you need to disable the system restore feature to remove the restore folders.

You can re-enable it after you have rebooted, but bear in mind that all previous restore points will be lost. This is also handy to know if you've ever had a virus that keeps re-appearing.

In win XP you could just do a "More Options" clean-up to remove all but the last restore point to slim the folders, but I'm not sure if the option is available in Me.

Or turn down sys restore to get the file size down, by disabling it it should purge all of it, believe you have to disable state manager in msconfig.
