Hey Ya'All!
I hope some one can give me a little help with this thing I just put together.
I was given a Athlon 800 slot CPU and asked to get a mobo that would support it and I thought I got the right one along with a midi 300 watt tower.
I threw it together and trying to start it all that happens is a long series of beeps followed by a couple of shorter beeps.
Any info I have about these type of beeps is that the power suply may be bad.
Is this the case ??
Or does any one have another thought...?

What mobo are you putting it in?
What are some of the other specs on it?

Hey MrEd,
Well the mobo is a slot A m800lmr if that means any thing... pc200systemboard.
Would the 200FSB have anything to do with it? When the ram is only 133...?
It says it supports up to 850 MHz and supports 100MHz mem bus...
What moe info do ya' need ??

Hey
I did find the cmos jumped shorted when I set it up...
Would that short the 3v battery to oblivian and or would or could I get the beeps like that if the button batery were bad??/

The beeps are a coded message from your mobo saying what is wrong. I believe that the code you are getting is a no video card detected. Try re-seating the video card and it should work. Good luck!

Hey guys,
Got the hint and put another video card in a PCI slot and it booted so might be the AGP slot has a problem.
Thank ya' all for the response.

You must also see which slot A Athlon you have. There is also a slot A Athlon Thunderbird processor, which not all slot A motherboards support. You'll have to go to the AMD website for info on this.

CMOS jumper should be set to the operating position, most boards that I have received they come with it set in the reset position. Check the book that came with the board to see which position it should be in.
