display probs need help

My display was real fuzzy so I d/l'd the latest driver for my vid. card, and now its sharp like i want it, but when i go to watch a movie file of about any type they are real dark. Does any one know whats going on, or have any suggestions?

Go to Control Panel>Display>Settings>Advanced and from there adjust the brightness settings, it would be also a good idea to see if they change any when you switch to the DVD program, also check the movie playing software has no in built colour schemes or control settings to adjust and finally check your monitors contrast settings and what not

biged322 what video card do you have installed?

i'll suggest you to get the latest drivers and then do a full uninstall of the drivers

so swtich to a VGA 640x480 standard Windows Drivers

then install the new drivers for your video card

i have the brightness set so that its fine for everyday stuff, the movies are really the only thing that's dark

i'm not sure what kind of video card it is, it came with my old hp pavillion stock from hp
