Just ordered this: http://direct.mwave.com/mwave/ProdPIONEER.hmx?UID=&CID=&updepts=MM-CD&DNAME=%3Cb%3ECD+ROM%2FDVD%3C%2Fb%3E&back=ProdPIONEER.hmx?

It's the PIONEER DVD-106S 16X-DVD EIDE SLOT INTERNAL #106S(Bare drive).

Does it come with an audio cable to connect to sound card? or can I steal the one off my CD-RW (don't listen to audio cds anyhow). If I do this, will I have sound when I play cd required games? If I put the game cd in the new DVD drive (with sound cable) will it be recognized? or do I have to install it off that drive?

I just purchased an OEM cdrom drive and it came in a plain box with no ide cable, but with an audio cable.

the oem drive should come with an audio cable and a driver cd.

Leave the audio cable hooked up to your cdrw and play cd required games with that and just use the pioneer for playing dvds.

Use the audio cable in the drive of your
choice or use one on each if your sound card
has 2 inputs.Yes you will have sound. Most of the time the game cd will be recignized and
you won't have to install it from your new drive.
