Colleagues:

Built 1.2GHz TBird system today. Fast as greased lightening! SMALL Problem: single 30 GB ATA/100 IBM HD (master) not being recognized. I am using Iwill K266 mobo, about .5 GB PC133 SDRAM. CDROM and CDRW being picked up, no prob. I booted with boot disk to RAMDRIVE, but that's as far as I can get. I haven't loaded mobo drivers yet and maybe that's my problem.

HD cannot be "found" so kind of hard to fdisk, format and load OS!

Any ideas? Thx!

Make sure the IDE and power cables are connected properly, then make sure the jumper on the hdd is in the correct position. It should be set to "single" not "master" if it's the only drive on the cable, and "master" if it is sharing the cable with another device.

Fingers, good call. My wife notified me that the ribbon cable wasn't connected all the way... http://www.sysopt.com/forum/biggrin.gif Oh well, let that be a lesson to me.
