How do I stop getting some of this junk that we all get. The message tells you to reply with remove or unsubscribe , but then you do and you end up getting it back saying the address is no good. What is up with that, I know it is a scam thing. Thanks for any help. fangoria

Hi, it would help to know which application you use to check your email.

For example if you are referring to Hotmail, there is an InboxProtector, you can activate this to Block emails you dont want to receive.
if you are using Outlook, you could set up a message rule (Tools>Message Rules>Mail) to have certain e-mails blocked or deleted automatically.

Hope this helps,
cm.

Beware of the "unsubcribe/remove" thing. If you send them a reply to "unsubcribe", you've just verified your email account with them.

fangoria:

In that case go to Tools>Message Rules>Blocked Senders list:

You will find a Blocked Senders Tab, click on Add button and chose the email add(s) you wish to block, click ok.

Hope this helps http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif,

The best way to stop SPAM is to report it! There are several things to do:
1. On the junk e-mail, right click and select properties.
2. Click Details/Message Source
3.Right click on the text, click on Select All, right click again and select copy.
4. Close those windows and click on New Mail.
5. Paste the SPAM in the message area.
6. At the top of the message, you'll see this:
Return-Path: <aw-confirm@ebay.com>
Received: from morn.ebay.com ([216.33.156.139] verified)
by dc-mx06.cluster0.hsacorp.net (CommuniGate Pro SMTP 3.4b9)

If the message came from a verified server, it will say verified, if not, copy the IP address (in bold above) and use a program called Sam Spade to find out who the IP belongs to, use the e-mail address Sam gives you to complain! The type message I usually use is this:
"Please find below a SPAM message with complete header information from one of your users. Please kill this account to stop this illegal activity.
Thank you,
(add your name here)

You will usually get a message back saying the account was killed/terminated, etc.
By just blocking it, they'll just SPAM others and fill up your deleted box! Get rid of this slim!
