well, i just got my first issue... the one with age of mythology on the cover, and i must say it's a great source to look at new games... since i looked at it (just got it yesterday and looked at it today), i found about 5 games that look interesting.:D

yeah great magazine. Those cd's that come with it give my cdrom fits sometimes though.

Get the UK version occasionally - prefer PC Zone though - although it is getitng a lil bit slim on page numbers nowadays :eek:

I get Maximum PC, too, but I liked it better when it was called Boot. Also got a couple of issues when it was called CD-Rom Today.

me and my dad used to subscribe to PC ZONE, although they are getting pathetic nowadays, they have the best reviews... and used to have the best price for a PC mag but the prices are going up and the pages are going lower, i don't even buy it anymore :eek:

and PC GAMER is cack.. they give nearly every game 90%.. thats the UK mag though.. don't know what its like over the other side of the pond.

for some reason my mom got free two year subscriptions to a bunch of game magazines. We get 2 pc ones and 3 all gaming ones. She doesnt know why she got em but she passes em along :)

I haven't subscribed to a pc gaming magazine since my PC Accelerator subscription ran out and they stopped making the magazine or something. What a shame, it was the only good pc gaming magazine around... They had this section where they went back and "fixed" previous reviews. Heres one of them:

That's what we get for letting a skirt review a game - what the hell were we thinking? Flash Feast is one of the biggest piles of **** we've ever seen, period. It is deserving of a suuicide award and we sincerely apologize for not nailing this game the first time around - it will never happen again (us being nice to a game or us letting a girl review a game).

And here is a comment a reviewer made about Jeff Gordon XS Racing:

Daniel Morris invented a game called Vroomy Karz, played with Matchbox cars on the floor. It's more fun than this game.

I stopped getting PC Gamer because I couldn't tell where the adds stopped and the articles started. :r

I don't see a need for PC mags when there's so many good websites.
