I used to have the Soundblaster Live Value, replaced with the Soundblaster Live Platinum 5.1. I know nothing of the other card. All I can say is that I was nothing but pleased with that Live Value card. Never had a single problem. Worked well with my old Eastern 3 piece speaker system.

A3D is dead (unfortunately), as is Aureal, so skip the Diamond Monster MX400, which uses an Aureal sound chip.

Yes, one thing is for sure. SB is here to stay. That means updated drivers which is more important than saving a couple $. WHat good is a sound card when they stop suporting it?:(
