anyone know what shoutcast is? if you use it you will notice some of the site pop up the mini-brower, that is the annoyingiest *deleted*, how do you disable it? or can it even be done?

I think "popups" are that products of JavaScript. You could try adjusting your Java and JavaScript settings under Tools>Internet Options>Security in Internet Explorer, to see if it has any affect.

I agree, Siren is a REAL mp3 software package. I haven't really bothered with any other mp3 suites since I found this software package.

As for stopping annoying popups, the minibrowser is simply an extension of IE's mshtml.dll rendering engine. Any java or proxy based HTML filter should be able to remove these popup's with little issue. I personally use the Proximatron HTML re-authoring filter proxy for this task. Here is more info:

I, for one, do NOT like MusicMatch at all. I still have it on my system and still occasionally give it a try, hoping to like it. But it has yet to win me over. Too bloated for me. I don't need all the **** that it does, I don't need it to keep a HUGE (and practically unmanageable) library of my songs...that's what I have a drive/directories/& a file manager for.

Doesn't sound like I'd love the newest Winamp either. This sounds very similar to the issue people are having with the newest ICQ & ads.

Sometimes it pays NOT to upgrade. I'm still very happy, satisfied & completely content with my old version of Winamp, version 2.64. It does all I want it to do, play .mp3s (& many other formats) and <u>nothing else</u>.
