When I right click on an image and select save, it wants to save everything as a .bmp file, now matter what type of graphic file it is. This only started after I installed frontpage 2002. Does anyone know why this is, and how I can correct the problem? Thanks on advance.

No is not trying to save it as .bmp

just RENAME the extension before selecting save, then is all fixed

no there's no permanent fix

manually changing the name everytime is the best solution

:t

Blame it on M$ :p

Try this:

Go into Control Panels -> Add/Remove Programs -> select MS IE -> click Add/Remove -> select Repair IE -> click OK -> click YES.

It appears that it actually is trying to save it as a .bmp .bmp is the only selection in the save as drop down menu. Also, after saving the file to disk, the image files are close to a meg, and sometimes more. definitely .bmp size. I tried renaming the file as well, but it simply changed the name from *.bmp to *.jpg.bmp

Also of interesting note is the fact that IE by default now is also naming the files "untitled" So every time I try to save an image off the web, IE wants to save it as "untitled.bmp" no matter what the image is called or what type of image it is. Its maddening. I hate M$.

I just open it in Photoshop and then save it in whichever format I like.
