Hi,

You know when you download something from the internet and the default directory is C:\Documents and settings\Username\Documents..

Where in the registry can I change this??????

You can always change this in the DONWLOAD window itself

just before you hit SAVE pick a place

Yes, I am aware of this. I was wondering where the Registry location was to change the Default! :)

Download Microsoft's Tweakui here:

http://www.microsoft.com/ntworkstation/downloads/PowerToys/Networking/NTTweakUI.asp

It gives you an easy interface to change several settings, including the location of the "My Documents" folder.

Yup - it's in My Computer > Special Folders. Did you bother to look at my "sticky" post at the top of this forum? Nooooo....

You can't use that version of TweakUI. Get the one here:

http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/pro/downloads/powertoys.asp

I still don't get it

You don't need a registry hack for that?

it's right there in the window

after you save it once

it will remain there until the next time you change it

 :x

I think AG means that you should right-click My Documents and select Properties. You can then relocate the folder and the contents will automatically be transferred there.

He has a funny way of saying that, doesn't he? :p

I was wondering what everyone's opinion is about the XP powertoys and which ones are worth having?

Do any of them cause any problems?

thanks

No problems yet. Tweak, Command Prompt Here, Power Calc and Image Resizer are worth it. The others? Up to you. I've heard complaints about Task Switcher.
