Hello,

I have recentlyl rebuilt a win98 PC and stupidly didn't look at the system information before the rebuild! The board has a built in Graphics Card/Sound card.

Windows will not detect the motherboard for me and I am unable to get any further with the rebuild!

I have looked at the board, but wouldn't know where to look to find out who the manufacturer is!

Please can someone advise how I could find this out? Maybe there is a bit of software out there that could find out for me?

You may need to look on the side of a PCI/ISA slot sometimes they have it there. I have seen a couple where it is on the back of the board, which is bad because then you have to take the board out.

There is a program out there called Aida that may help you ID the board, although it can not Id mine.

I can not seem to have the link or the thread on it anymore, if someone else could supple it?

take out the MOBO, and see what is the model # and brand of it

then go to its website and download the drivers

We know less that you do! Could you tell us what CPU is in this thing?

I also cannot tell if you have Windows installed or not. Is what you need motherboard drivers? Look at the big chips on the motherboard. They should say ALi, Intel, SiS or VIA.
