My Gefoce 2 Ti is unstable at stock speeds

I hate this card now I have it now at 230/380 or it wont run alot of my games..:mad:

Ok, I thought that fixed it. But now its doing it again.

When I play Tiger woods it sometime it just goes to a black screen then puts colorful line though the screen. It does this on Medal of Honor to sometimes.

But on Warcraft 3 and Hot puruit 2 it does fine. This is just weird.:confused:

I had game lock up problems with my audigy, only in certain games. Make sure that if you are on win xp with a sb live card, update to the new drivers. I dont know if its an issue with creative and amd or with nvidia, there was alot of complaints though involving lock ups with those three components, but you dont have a athlon.

Sounds like a Possible Hardware resources conflict. Check your video card and sound card IRQ's etc. in Hardware manager. Windows may have out them both on the same IRQ, if so, try changing the slot the sound card is in.

Post your IRQ listings... I have the world's most unstable mobo, but right now I'm running the Pine Ge2 Ti 64MB card, and it seems to love my setup.

Stock speeds on the Pine was 225/400, although I know manufacturers differ at times.

Currently at 255/445 with no errors.

I have the same card an I only have problems with it when I installed new hardware an it used the same IRQ as the GF.

Since I have no use for my serial ports I disabled them in bios freeing up IRQ's
Since I HATE USB, it's disabled in bios freeing up IRQ's ( USB seem to wanna use the GF IRQ an can't in anyway move them so SCREW'M )

Its a VisionTEk. I know Visiontek. I have read the entire fac sheet front to back about 10 times. It clearly says that the Geforce line of cards should be the ONLY device using irq. 11 with the exception of the IRQ steering!;)

I have the same card.. Visiontek Gf2ti.

I have had absolutely zero problems with it.. I have overclocked it before to 268/430 but it makes almost no difference, so I have it at stock speeds.

Reinstall drivers? I've used the latest 30s and the new windows XP-certified 40s and they both work well.

Thx for the info, I have the ti500 but I just sent it in under warranty. Last thing, how do I set it so that I can change the irq settings again? something in the bios right or was it the reinstalling something from the win xp cd?

I get gains of almost 400-500 points in 3DMark2001 SE by overclocking my GeForce 2 Ti. If you don't notice a significant gain by O/Cing the card, your CPU is too slow to allow you to notice the gain, or your cooling on the video card is inadequate, amongst other things.

The only thing on IRQ 11 is the visiontek so its o.k. as far as that goes. Monitor your resources when running the game to see if your locking anyhitng up. Also does the HDD light stay on? What fer psu is it? Def. a stumper but we should be able to figure it out. I hope...:t

Go into bios and turn of PnP. THis will allow you to set whats run on what.;)

I was talking to a few people, and apparently the Ge2 Ti cards have some wicked draw on the 3.3 V rail. I, too, might be replacing my little wonderdog card sooner than later.

Total left today after paying bills... 450 bucks :D

Yep, I'v played the game that jammed everytime with the Geforce 2 Ti and now it never james..:D I think i'm gonna put the geforce 2 ti 64mb in my dads 800mhz since he has a tnt2:)

Ahh, the computer world "circle of life", one man's discard is another man's upgrade. Isn't this why we give our old systems to our family members? So we can "upgrade' them down the road with our current castoffs! :D

Personally Id rather my family members enjoy my leftovers then sell it for 1/10th what I paid for it. I like to see people happy, and when you give them a free kick **** card it makes them smile. Should have seen my Mom's face when her XP system booted up with a G3 original in there. Was worth every penny!;)
