It might help if you left some sort of geographical location. There are some freebies still left. But usually for Washington State and NYC.
www.amexol.net (http://www.amexol.net) is a free 56K service for American Express cardholders.
www.bluelight.com (http://www.bluelight.com) is K-Mart's. Very limited time, except if you make online purchases. The more you purchase, the more free time they give you.

The best for cheapskate alternatives might be the $4.95/mo. banner plan from AT&T World Net...150 Hours/mo. That's five hours a day. You can back that up with NetZero's 40 hours a month. If you log on more than 200 hours a month...

I use funcow.com It's kind of screwy and sometimes it takes forever to get on. It appears that they only have on phone number for the entire province of BC. It's probably the same for other places too. The connect speeds are ok and transfer speeds range from great to terrible.
I uses to use the 1stup subsidaries, but they went out of business. Too bad, as they were a great free isp. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/frown.gif
