Will it speed up my pentium III 800 computer i mean in the graphics part of computing like the desktop divx's and games...or is this too much to give to a PIII 800 Computer?
Which solution would be good and since I'm on the topic about upgrading parts what about a sound card, It might help take a load of my cpu, which do you recommend for a PIII 800 system?
all suggestions and comments are welcome, just keep it clean!!!

You could find a Gforce 3 ti for about the same price as a gforce 4mx. The gf 3 ti would be a better performer. Or you could go for a radeon 8500.

I have a p III 800 which used to have a Geforce 4MX440 in it, it wasn't bad at 2D app's but not so hot at 3D games. I replaced it with a Geforce 3T1 200 and that made a tremendous difference in games. My 3D 2001 score went up by around 500 to 3200. It also seems a lot happier at higher resolutions than the old MX. I think BTR is right... go for the Gf3Ti. Also, some older sound cards use up some CPU time, I think the newer PCI cards will take that small load off the CPU.....

Indeed, a gf3 ti200 was good on my P3 750. Now it's moved on to my Athlon XP 1600+, though. At least until I get a better vid card.
Final vote for GF3Ti200 :)

My vote is for a 64mb 8500le they are under 90 bucks now..:t
I say either the Geforce3 ti200 or Redeon 8500 LE would be a good choice for your P3 800.

Hello
The gf4mx440 or the mx series is not a gamers card.
A gf3, gf3ti200 will show a huge performance bost.
the ti500 costs as much as a gf4ti4200 so If you want to spend that much you might get the gf4ti4200
The gf3ti200 is the best card in its price range.

yes the prices are that close between them. The gf4ti4200 will cost only $10-20 more. Maybe even less
