Hey, Guys!
I got another question for you...
What is THE best motherboard for an Athlon?
Money is no object, as long as it's less than $400. :D
I'm wanting just a single proc board, with raid.
What's the best?
Thanks, David

Best for what purpose?
Stability?
Reliability?
Tweakability?
Raw Speed?
Overclockability?
Durability?
Longevity?
Compatability with other components?
Ability to fit larger form-factor CPU HS?
Expandability?
USB2.0 required?
Firewire required?
Onboard sound required?
Onboard NIC required?
Frequent BIOS updates desired?
Regarding RAID, will you want to run only RAID-0 or RAID-1, or will you want other capabilities like RAID-0+1, JBOD?
If several/all of these are concerns, then rank them in importance. I'm sure folks will then be able to give you more focused opinions.

Epox 8k9a2, 8k5a2, 8k3a+
Abit AT7-MAX2
Asus A7V8X
Those are just a few i have been checking out lately. I would recomend any Epox.
Go to www.newegg.com and check them out for yourself.

I was wanting the best performance, overclockabilty, and RAID 0.
I have been lokking at the ASUS A7V8X and Soyo KT400 Dragon Ultra Platinum Edition.
I'm kinda wanting to wait for the nForce2 or the Via KT400A chipset to come out.
Thanks for the replies! :t

EPoX... any of the newer boards (big brothers to my 8K3A+)
HighPoint RAID (RAID-0, -1, -0+1, JBOD) + adjustable stripe sizes
Very Fast
Very Steady
Many, many OC tweaks
I've built with PCChips, Abit, Asus and EPoX... when I'm building for myself... EPoX :D

Abit AT7-Max2
Epox boards are good for high clock speeds, but just about any Abit board of the same chipset will beat an Epox clock for clock at memory benches. Abit AT7-Max 2 has SATA RAID onboard as well as the normal ATA 133 RAID onboard. voltages to go high enuf to launch ur chip and ram into a geosynchronous orbit, and tweakability to match.
