Help - Need tools for atrohiding the bad sectors on a hdd between partitions

Ok guys,
I don't currently have problems with my hdd, but I do have a 420MB antique, that I dropped on the floor. It is currently divided into 4 or 5 partotions and I still remember how time consuming and boaring it was to track all the bad sectors on the disk (from the head scratching the disk) and to position them between the partitions.
I was just wandering if anyone knows a utility to do that automaticaly - reclaim all space into 1 partition, scan the disk for bad sectors an re-partition.

geez - guess you could do a low level format to reclaim the drive, then run scandisk and find all them bad sectors and put 'em into separate partitions, but if you find a program out there that does what you're looking for they're doing a real disservice to anyone using it

the drive is bad and failing, and maybe worth $3-5 - why spend hours doing what you suggest - time to throw that puppy away (or recycle it)

Use Scandisk or Norton Disk Doctor, and let them do a Full Disk scan with layer :t

Rather than take all the time to try and fix the HD, with all the bad sectors (they usually get worst). Take the top off, run a wire through the mounting holes and use it for a mirror, I have about 4 in my shop.:t

Just for giggles and grins, try zapping the drive then repartition it and format. sounds funny but I had a drive that showed some bad sectors, even after formatting several times, I thought I was going to have to trash the drive because these bad sectors were right at the front. I hated to do that to a 40 gig, but found a post telling about "zap" here on these forums and tried it. After zapping I had to repartition and format and have not had any problems or bad sectors since. Maybe you could try it on yours.... what do you have to lose.
