It has been mentioned before that changing the bios startup sequence to Cd-rom,C,A might make it a little easier for people who forgot to include cd-rom drivers on the emergency startup/rescue disk. If I wanted to do this, how would I get to it and change the bios sequence? I assume you would get into start/run/???, but not sure. Thanks.

When you first turn on your pc you'll see a message to press F10 or Del to enter setup. Look around and you'll find the option to change. Be very carefull in the Bios.

thanks..been there before a long time ago, but forgot. Think I'd rather mess with the registry than bios.

Ditto that, the bios was designed to be user friendly...not so with the Windows registry.
The BIOS (Basic Input/Output System) is "built-in" software that controls what the computer does when the power is turned on. The BIOS controls how the system hardware is addressed, including the drive boot sequence. All this happens before any operating system is even loaded, therefore the boot sequences can only be changed in the BIOS, it has nothing to do with the Windows registry, nor can it be controlled by the Registry.

"changing the bios startup sequence to Cd-rom,C,A"
Don't EVER put the "C" drive ahead of the "A" drive in the boot sequence !!!

Ok, so I gather y'all don't like the idea? Just for clarity, it wasn't my idea...just trying to get thoughts on it. Thanks.
