Need info on this DVD item please

Hi everybody!

This is a pretty specialized topic I have not seen ont he board here so I will ask you to point me to some good info please. I have been to a couple of DVD forums, but they are flaming forums and not friendly and helpful like my hoime here. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif

I need assistance tracking down a combination of CD-R, encoding software and anything else pertinent in getting VCDs to play on my Philips DVD711 settop dvd player. I can get encoded vcds to play fine except they are black and white. I have seen two others post about this, but their fix was to get a different brand of DVD player instead of figuring this out.

Try here (http://www.vcdhelp.com/) , dude, helped me once on similar problem, in my case it was something about TV/DVD standards ...
This (http://www.digital-digest.com/dvd/downloads/encoding.html) is a nice site also ... I believe I used Flask, worked fine for me then, but you'd better look yourself ...

Thanks. Do you have a DVD711? I willt ry flask. VCDHelp has been no help. Whiel they have good tutorials, their forum has netted me no true answers and noone will respond to my posts.
