Samsung Samsung Samsung!

I've already done a lot of research on this cause I too am buying a new monitor soon and I am getting the Samsung 955DF. There is an excellent review of it on Anandtech. For the price, you really can not go wrong with this monitor

here's the specification:

samsung 955DF has .20mm dot pitch, 1600 x 1200 maximum @ 68hz, flatscreen CRT, 3 year warranty

viewsonic has .25mm dot pitch, 1280 x 1024 maximum, flatscreen CRT, 3 year warranty

I wanna get samsung 957DF instead.

I have a Viewsonic 19" E90f flatscreen it does 1600X1200 @ 68hz.

By the way the dot pitch you mentioned about the samsung was a horizontal dot pitch. and the one you mentioned about the viewsoinc was a diagonal dot pitch.

If you go by a horizontal dot pitch the

Viewsoinc is .21mm

not .25mm

Samsung is .20mm

Cant tell a difference after a .27mm diagonal dot pitch anyway..

Get the Viewsonic E90f I love mine..

But is the Samsung monitor REALLY flat as the name Dyna flat indicates ?.

The DF monitors i have seen from Samsung have a curved screen behind a flat glass plate. False marketing if you ask me. That aside, Samsung makes good monitors - not as good as my G90F though :D

Go with the Sam it is very simple, even if it is flat or not.

i think that my 955df is flat, but with a curved glass behind it...oh well, either way, it's the sharpest, most defined monitor i have ever seen. I got mine for $200... kinda expensive.

Defiently SAMSUNG. As long your not gonna be staring at 1600/1200 all of the time. Otherwise Major headache coming your way. 68hz
