Motherboard fried and had to put new motherboard in and used the old drive. As I boot up it comes up as a error code 602 from GoBack. And anyone tell me what this error code is? I could not disable goback when the other system died. Reformat and reinstall are not options. Can anyone help?

You'll need to get instructions on how to recover you registry. GoBack has more than likely messed it up beyond recognition.

You'll need to boot to a command prompt to make the changes.

On second thought, you'd probably be better off getting a different hard drive and copy the files off you old one. Then reformat and reinstall.

Here's the registry fix if you're interested:

New one on me. Didn't find anything at either Roxio or Symantec (or Google web/groups) with that error code.

If nothing else you might try this. (http://support.roxio.com/roxio_support/goback/kb_articles.html#_Toc12861770)

Glad to hear you saved it! What did you do?

I had GoBack uninstall itself on two different occasions after a crash. The second time Scanreg just went nuts creating directories and just couldn't seem to recover. Thats when I copied my files and did a fresh install.

I'm using XP now with hopes of not having such problems. For a while at least.

A coupl eof places said to boot up to command mode and start that way.. I couldn't even see the C drive. Then when trying to boot up the screen said to press the space bar so I did and low and behold there was the option to disable it! Boy it would ave been easier if I would have just done what the program told me to do.
