Hi folks, for those of you familiar with Comptia, I have been in correspondance with their Certification Program Manager. It seems that they are designing a Linux+ certification and are looking for some SMEs around the Portland, Oregon area to help out in designing the tests. For those of you interested, here is a copy of the email I recieved from her...
Dear all,
Thanks for participating in the worldwide Linux + online survey. Our next
step for the certification development process will be the exam items
writing and review. We will hold two workshops in April and May:
Item writing workshop: Portland, Oregon (April 17 - 20, 2001) (Intel
Location)
Item review workshop: Montreal, Canada (May 2 - 4, 2001) (IBM Location)
SME's who participate in the workshops take advantage of
several benefits:
* Each individual completing work assigned by the vendor receives a
check for $250;
* Each company receives one voucher for each SME assisting in the
workshop that is good for a free Linux+ exam;
* The SME will be the grandfather for the Linux + program;
* Company name listed on the CompTIA Web site as well as in Computing
Channels magazine showing it as an industry sponsor committed to the
development and support of the Linux+ certification program.
If you are interested in those events, please fill out the SME form and we
will contact you later. http://www.comptia.org/certification/linuxplus/sme_Linux_form.htm

Thanks and have a nice day!
So if you are an SME and interested, feel free to give them a holler.
Thanks in advance,
Ed.
