I have a question:
Since heat is caused by amps not volts could it be possible to raise the volts with like say a transformer and lower the amps in the process?

maybe, but i don't think a cpu would like that change. :p

Or the HDD or CdRom or Mobo or all the other goodies, they are designed to run on the voltages supplied, if you go and raise them, things will go snap crackle and pop:x

wonder why I never thought about that. Not a bad idea if you think about it.
But it does have its cons .

The thing aout CPU's is that the more voltage they uise, the more current they draw.. therfore, yo cannot give them more voltage with less heat... Lower the voltage, they draw less current, therefore heat down..
