Do you think this board is gonna work fine with the Intel Pentium 4 2.53GHZ processor? And could you suggest a good RAM to go with it? I want 512MB. Thanks

I will be playing games, browsing the internet, downloading mp3 and programming most of the time. BipolarBill 11-04-2002, 01:01 AM Hey! The CPU and the board both ROCK. No Athlon can beat it. It's the fastest setup you can get (next to RDRAM - the P4T533) and is more than up to the task. You ain't gonna strain that setup doing those things! nothing 11-04-2002, 01:20 AM I got more questions  1) how will I get the 2gb of ram if the board has only 3 slots for ram? 2)I was reading a review about this board http://www.overclockers.co.nz/ocnz/mobo/intel/i845e/p4b533/1.shtml and there is this paragraph: There is no legacy AGP card support (and don't dare try to install it otherwise you might burn your motherboard) and only a maximum of 4 banks of memory is supported. In layman's term, you can only install two double-sided DDR RAMs. Dimm 1 uses two banks and dimm 2 and dimm 3 shares another two banks. If you have two sticks of doubled sided DDR RAM, do not install them on dimm 2 and 3. It might cause system instability or the system couldn't recognize one of the RAMs. The rule can apply to other I845E motherboards with 3 dimm slots as well. Users have only single sided DDR RAM do not have such restriction. What do they mean by that? Thanks again Bill BipolarBill 11-04-2002, 01:29 AM First off, you'll need: 1 1GB Stick and 2 512MB sticks or 2 1GB sticks Secondly, you don't need 2GB of RAM! Spend your money on something you do need. 512MB-1GB is more than the intensive user needs. They are saying that old (pre-Radeon and GeForce) AGP cards won't work. Now, let's waste some more time. They mean that sticks of ram with chips on both sides need to be in slots 1 and 2 only. I thought that was pretty clear. nothing 11-04-2002, 01:32 AM where would you buy that board and the RAM? Direct1 11-04-2002, 01:59 AM New Egg (http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProduct.asp?submit=manufactory&catalog=280&manufactory=1315&DEPA=1&sortby=14&order=1) has the mobo for $108 with free FedEx S/H. You could get it there and the RAM BipolarBill suggested. Good Luck! :t BipolarBill 11-04-2002, 02:04 AM Here: http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProduct.asp?submit=manufactory&catalog=147&manufactory=1687&DEPA=1&sortby=14&order=1 http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProduct.asp?submit=manufactory&catalog=280&manufactory=1315&DEPA=1&sortby=14&order=1 As you can see, 1GB sticks are rare. When you find them, they cost about $1000. SysOpt.com
