You will either have to purchase an add-on controller card that will support the new harddrive, or use a DDO (Disk Drive Overlay) on the harddrive. You should be able to download a disk utility from the manufacturer that will install the DDO on the drive so you can use it with that older system. The DDO is sometimes called EZ BIOS, depending on the manufacturer. Of the two methods, using an add-on controller card (fits in PCI slot) will conserve the integrity of the data in case you wanted to move it to a different system (whole 'nother story). The DDO can be removed, but it takes all data with it. omega31 11-03-2002, 10:10 PM Welcome to Sysopt! :t Should do the 40gb with a 1012 bios. http://cgi.asus.com.tw/cgi-bin/dl.asp?filename=mb/slot1/440bx/p2b/Bx2i1012.zip With a 1013 beta bios, you can do over 60gb, maybe 80gb. Read the index.txt to find out which is the right one for your board. ftp://ftp.asus.com/pub/asus/beta/mb/bios/ I might add that I have a P2B-F with a 60gb drive. Easiest thing to do would be getting an add-on controller card. This way you won't have to worry about a bad bios flash. Search for "promise 66" or "promise 100" at www.pricewatch.com. SysOpt.com
