Hi,

I've just fitted an Athlon XP 1600 and my System in control

panel gives its speed as 1050. Sandra even benchmarks it

against an Athlon XP 1600 and finds it wanting! Surely the true

speed should be 1400. Is there something I should be doing

with the jumpers on my motherboard to get it up to that?

there is a jumper that sets your mobo at 100 or 133, you have to change it to 133 for your CPU to be recognized as 1400 mhz or Athlon XP 1600.

mine first booted up as 1050, i shut it down, set it as 133 and it found it as an Athlon XP 1600.

Yup - 133FSB, set the Jumper (see mobo manual) or Softmenu Bios setting to 133 FSB, you will then be running at full pelt
