My pump keeps shuting off my computer when the power ot my house goes out. Then I cant turn my computer back on for awhile even thought the CPU is still cool to the touch. Whats wrong, someone please help me. The amount of time my computer stays off is random too.

What you need first is a UPS:

What's happening is that the board is "shocked" by the event and cannot restart. ATX motherboards get power even when switched off. Only removing the power supply for about 10 seconds will clear it to restart. Next time, unplug the CPU for a few seconds and then start her up.

Bill, did you mean "unplug the cpu" or unplug the PSU?

Oops - I defaulted to n00b-speak. I mean the PSU.

When I describe a PC "box" to a n00b, I call it a CPU. We need a term for the case full of goodies. Would "computer" be good?

I usually say 'pull the plug from the back of the box'.:D

That'll work! :)
