I have a Plextor 16/10/40 CD burner and a Toshiba 16/40 DVD.
I have the Plextor on primary IDE master and the Toshiba on the secondary IDE master.
The HDD is on the ATA-100 onboard controller.
When I do audio CD copy using the Toshiba as the source.
It will take me 7 minutes to burn a CD because the DAE (Digital Audio Extraction) speed on the Toshiba is only 8.5X and the recorder is set at 16X.
Does anybody know any DVD Rom out there has a DAE speed of 16x or faster so I can utilize the full potential of the CDR at 16X which will burn a CD in 4 minutes.
Thanks,
Ben

DanU,
Thanks for the info.
Looks like I will be returning the Toshiba SMD1502 and getting a Pioneer DVD-116 which has a DAE speed of 16.1X.
Where would I get a good deal on the Pioneer?
Thanks in advance for the help.
Ben
