I have been very impressed with all the knowledge and information that is posted on this message board, as it has helped me decide on the best computer components to buy and to resolve PC problems. Therefore, I thought that such knowledgeable community would also be able to provide good recommendations on audio-video equipment.

As everyone might be aware already, VCRs are being slowly phased out as DVD technology takes over. So, I have had a hard time finding a very good quality VCR where I can play and edit all the VHS tapes that I have. I was very happy with a Sony SLV-N71 vcr that I bought a year ago, but, now hat I need to get another VCR for the bedroom, I can no longer find that model as it has been replaced by the SLV-N77. I bought the N77 yesterday and I was very disappointed with it, to the point that I am planning on returning it. Even though the video and audio playback is great, the VCR itself is very noisy when it is on, during playback, fast-fwd, fast rwd, as well as normal fwd-rwd.

Therefore, I wanted to ask the video experts on this forum for a recommendation on a high-quality Hi-Fi VCR that is currently sold today that I could exchange the SLV-N77 for. I need to get a VCR that provides the best video-audio recording as well as playback, but, it is also very quiet.

Your comments will be greatly appreciated.

Sincerely,
PCLatino.

All I can say is make sure it has at least four heads. I'd also like to hear recommendations on brands and models, especially for Tv+VCR all-in-one combos.

VHS is going the way of the Super 8 MM film. Get ready to make the transfer to DVD.
