I have a friend who has an HP that has ME on it. I was wondering how easy it was to run an upgrade version of XP on it. He doesn't want to buy the full version. I told him that he could dual boot the two but, he still wanted the upgrade version of XP.

Is it easy to run the upgrade version from Windows? Let me know before he goes out and buys the upgrade version. Thx.:t

it's pretty easy, but he'll want to check that all his hardware and software are xp compatible first. just pop the cd in the tray and it should autorun. the xp setup will run the compatibility checker and give a list of non-compatible items in the upgrade.htm file. check the hp website for more xp support info.

Ok...Thanks. I know that he needs a BIOS upgrade before he can use XP. I have already checked that out.
