Why do they call DDR PC133 PC2100.Wouln't have been better to call DDR memory PC2100 for double-pumped PC100 and PC2133 for double pumped 133.I was just curious as to the reason for the naming of DDR RAM like it is.

While RDRAM already now operates at 600/800 MHz, DDR SDRAM in "only" Double Data Rate, which means PC133 DDR module runs at 266 MHz (like AMD's EV6 DDR FSB)
DDR SDRAM manufacturers wanted their RAM to "sound" not less then RDRAM, so they decided to name the chips after their thoughtput :

100 MHz - 1.6 Gb/s - PC1600 (PC200)
133 MHz - 2.1 Gb/s - PC2100 (PC266)
150 MHz - 2.4 Gb/s - PC2400 (PC300)
166 MHz - 2.7 Gb/s - PC2700 (PC333)
