Top 10 Weapons of all time!

3dactionplanet has posted a top ten list of the best FPS game weapons of all time. Guest what got #1? You will have to look, but when you see you will know why I am excited, because it's from my favorite game of all time! Blood. 2nd place weapon was from the game Duke Nukem 3d, which was very similar to Blood, and also a very cool game.

#1 has to be the BFG... Just looking at the name sends shivers down my spine. Being only 9 or 10 at the time, I still knew the REAL meaning of Big Friggin Gun, and seeing its giant blue (I think) orb fly out and destroy so many imps sends me down memory lane. Can't wait till Doom 3! :r :r :r

The quake 3 gauntlet was mint in large scale brawls as you could just jump in and thwack - easy kills.. one on one it was bad - but then most melle weapons are...

As for the Impact Hammer- that thing sucked big time :| - Thank god the one in ut2k3 is (marginally) better

Admit it, the impact hammer was funnier than the Gauntlet :P.

It was so funny to pound your enemy in the face, then send his gibs flying away. :D.

But most of the Q3 weapons were better looking (like the rocket launcher)

YEAH! the shrink ray gun was AWESOME and so funny :D.

For melee attacks I always liked the crowbar in half life. You just dont undertand until you run after one of the top players and kill him wtih a crowbar as you run wildly around him smacking away.

No better way to embarrass people :)

Yeah I think if this would be most effective weapon itd have to be many of the ol' standby's.

Rocket launchers in most games are good

Sniper rifles if your good can be devastating. (i used to just run around with a sniper rifle and pick peoples heads off)

Guns like the M16/Grenade launcher gun combo in half life rocked because it did two for 1.

Enhanced shock rifle in UT is one hit kill devastating.

Shot guns are typically good small map killers. In games such as half life, turn a corner see someone blam theyre dead.

AWP in CS, or Q3 Rail Gun. BFG is the best old-school. Heh, its the only old-school.

I reckon the BFG is the best weapon of all time. It appears in a number of games and everytime it appears in a game it has appear to destroy multiple enemys with only on shot.

but its not the power of the weapons that make them good, its the fear they instill in you, if some CT had an awp, i could take him out with my AK, if he had a BFG though. you. are. dead. :)

CS = Counter Strike. mod for Half-Life. CT = Counter-Terrorist. one of the 2 teams in CS. AWP = well, the rifle is called the Arctic Warfare Magnum, but the M seems to have morphed into a P. started playing CS back in the Beta 5s, and i think the word-morph comes from people saying in chat "f***ing AWP"... that meaning Arctic Warfare Pvssy, referring to the person using it rather than the rifle itself. anyways, the AWP is the big bad sniper rifle/cannon.
