i have a asus MEW-AM 370 socket MOTHERBOARD WITH a intel 800mhz cpu it won't take any os system bought from some one selling it in the penny saver in MD

has a phoenix hp bios 1999-2000
300 watts power supply (new)

128 mb ram tried pc 100 and pc133

with built in video of 1mb or 512mb

that i can't disable

and the mobo has no jumpers to change anything none

it keeps showing the error .........................................irql Equal not equal message on bsod

when trying to install windows xp or just freezes when setting up other os's

what could be the problem ...if i let it just sit there in like a dos state it won't freeze but if i try to install an os it does thee above

I tried putting a fan on the cpu to lower the temp hasn't work
also tried different memory sticks and the same thing keeps happening ..also NOTE: this mobo does not have any jumpers none

10-1 the motherboard has serious hardware issues. Try a BIOS update:

could be serious check bios settings..cpu voltage look for overclocking in any form and see if the memory meets specs

i had this problem, and fought with it for 2 days..... i found out the hard drive was bad..... :( try another hard drive.... make sure you dont put the one yoru using on slave... cause i still got the errors till i removed it compleatly.

I will try a voltage and overheating check on the cpu. The mem has been checked any more suggestions.

Are you trying to use a discrete graphics card? You mentioned you can't disable the onboard video memory. It should automatically disable with a discrete card in the AGP slot. Does the mobo have an AGP slot?

Mobo voltages should be at 1.75core, 3.3mem.

One of your devices is causing this error at the hardware level.

Have you taken all add-on cards and external devices out?

Start from the bottom up, and if it works, then you can isolate the problem as being associated with one or more hardware devices.
I had the same problems when installing an SB Audigy :rolleyes: Buggy VIA chipsets :D

After this, swap the power supply.

If this is all to no avail and you still experience the same problems, THEN follow BipolarBill's link and flash the BIOS.

will try new hd and video card and will lower temp of cpu will check back tomorrow to see if it fix the problem also has no agp slot

bought a mew fan and artic silver coating works just fine now
