Bovon 03-24-2001, 06:47 PM PC133 just means that it will work with a machine running at a 133 fsb. The more ram the better. If the 128 mb will run ok on your machine, I would think 128 mb would be better than 64 mb. Of course, the PC133 is faster, but still it is less memory. As an example. I upgraded this machine from an old mobo that ran at 66 mhz bus, it was one of the first that had DIMM as well as SIMM slots. I started off with 32 mb with Win95A, added another 32 mb (all EDO 60ns) when I went to Win98, upgraded that to 128 mb of EDO 60ns, changed mobos, but continued to use the 128 mb EDO, til I could afford a ram upgrade. Then, I bought 128 mb PC100 and I really couldn't tell much difference...I didn't have anything to benchmark it tho, so I can't give you any specifics. I just last week upgraded to 256 mb PC133 CAS2, and now, I see all the difference in the world...it improved the machine probably 50%. Fingers 03-25-2001, 02:29 AM - If your motherboard only runs on a 66MHz bus, both the 64MB PC-133 and the 128MB PC-66 are going to run at 66MHz, therefore 128MB @ 66MHz is better than 64MB @ 66MHz. - If your motherboard runs on a 100 or 133MHz bus, the 128MB PC-66 won't work, so you'll have to go with the faster memory. Running memory that is rated below the bus speed of the motherboard won't work, and running memory rated above the speed of the mobo bus is wasted. If you're buying memory, PC-133 provides a better upgrade solution, it "overclocks" better, and it is almost the same price as the "slower" memory. SysOpt.com
