here's the deal...I want to have a flash movie play when the site loads, but when it's done playing, I want certain parts of the movie to be links to other pages... can anyone tell me how to do this (I'm using dreamweaver, and don't know HTML)
thanks

what does this have to do with dream weaver or html? in flash after your movie is done playing, on the last frame make it stop and put buttons that links on that particular frame

flash have nothing to do with html, there is no image map to place, simply MAKE a button ANYWHERE you want in the movie on the last frame, you dont even have to make a button, you can just GOTO a 2nd html page

loveless,
Thanks for the help thus far. well, I added a button to the movie, and i know that it is there, cause when i view the movie, the little hand appears when i scroll over it. now my question is, how do i make that button actually link to another page when it is clicked?
thanks

OK, you added a symbol to your Flash document and gave it button behavior. This should have created four frames, with the first instance of your button in a keyframe, the Up frame, with over, down, and hit frames that are empty. You have to make these frames keyframes, which will copy your button to each instance of the new keyframe. Change each intance for whatever effect you want to give to your button. Now go back to Edit mode and put the button on the stage from the library. Choose Actions panel, Add Statement menu, Basic Actions > Get URL (double click) and put in your URL. If you are connected, go to Preview and test your button. Call me in the morning.

well, thanks cap, but I figured it out shortly before you posted. however, i have encountered a slightly new problem. the button that i'm using is a word, and unless i'm directly over a letter (meaning not in between letters), it doesn't become active. how do i make it so that the entire area around the word (including the spaces) is part of the HIT area?
thanks

Select all the text (drag a box around it), then choose Insert/Convert to Symbol, check Button and your on your way.
