Don't you love M$? Especially M$ Help. I enter in "optimize quick removal" because that's what's greyed out, and they don't even recognize their own terms.

Hi gang: just got a HD tray. Works great. How can I set up my XP for hot swapping of this data drive. I can't change the properties or do I have to do it in Administrator?

You can't hot-swap an IDE drive unless it's connected to an IDE controller card that supports it. :(

Hi Bill. Well, how would I know if my controller card supports it? I have a Gigabyte 7ZXE mobo. Would it say in the specs?

No. :( Only expensive add-on cards like Promise and 3Ware allow this.
