I recently added a larger HD to my mother's computer; her primary is only 1GB & she's constantly complaining that it's full. What is the best way for her to utilize this 2nd HD? I really don't want to open it back up & change the cables and master/slave on each HD. Should I leave Win on old drive and move everything else to new HD? She mostly checks email and plays games on the internet.
Least work is if you just make the win386.swp on the new drive and move the temporary internet files folder there. That should make pretty much free space. Isn't worth the work to move program files etc to the new drive if all she does is read mail and stuff like that.

The best way to improve performance would be to change the OS and apps to the new drive and make it the master since it's probably much faster than the old 1GB drive.
In addition to muno's suggestion, if you don't want to open the case again, you could just uninstall any space hogging programs from the C: drive and reinstall them on the D: drive.
ps. Clean out the C:\Windows\Temp directory and delete the temporary internet files also.
