Click to See Complete Forum and Search --> : Dreamweaver page looks good in IE but not Netscape
I am not much on web site design nor do I know a lot about it. A buddy made a page for me in Dreamweaver. It looks perfect in IE, but in Netscape the pictures are on top of the text and navigation bars. It looks plain awful in Netscape. Any ideas on how to fix this? Maybe there is a box that needs to be checked to make it compatible with netscape or something?

In order to make the site compatible in Netscape 4 for layers, there is one option that you need to check in Dreamweaver Preferences.
Netscape handles tables a little differently than IE, also. There is no box that you can check to remedy this. You have to go back into Dreamweaver and play with it a bit, editing the alignment options and previewing it in Netscape till you get it right. Dreamweaver allows you to preview your page in both browsers, if they are both installed on the computer.
Didn't dreamweaver support codechecking also? I mean wasn't there an option with what you could check the incompabilities with different browsers.. Or was it homesite?
Can't seem to remember anything =)
