I buy a lot of monitors at Staples. Tried to buy one online yesterday but they were out of stock, so I went to my local store and they to were out of stock. But the sales dude offered me the display model at 10 % off. What a deal !!!
Envision 17" 775EN
original price 164.98
coupon - 30.00
10% off - 16.50
rebate - 85.00
sales tax + 5.92
TOTAL COST $39.40
I still can't believe it.

The rebate is now expired but remember the 10% off the display model it might come in handy sometime.

Yeah, I saw that deal on the Envision 17" monitor. I was hesitant to use the $30 coupon since it states that to get the $85 rebate no other discounts can apply.

I'd hate to have the bigger discount disqualified. Has this worked for you? An in store coupon plus a rebate?

You can also use a competitors coupon in Staples, all the office stores accept each others coupons. I've done this several times.

BTW that monitor would match great with a black computer...it has a grey bezel and a black body. Not to mention the flat screen and the 0.21mm dot pitch!

I've collected rebates on lots of these monitors and used coupons on all of them. No Problem.

I double count 'em all the time, most times it works (sometimes it doesn't), but it takes months sometimes - pain to track'em all down but it's nice getting that "check in the mail" :)

so you can use other store's cupons for other ones? ****, I need to try that.

It sucks that sometimes they don't want to see you the display because "it's a display" :(

Staples has a Cendyne 40x12x48 cd burner for $29.94 after rebate, shipped for free. If you have a coupon it can be even less. BARGAIN TIME !!!

be very carefull with this one , many of us are fighting for this rebate on a previous offer, cendyne insists on the SERIAL number on the form or they will reject it. and this is on a $50 rebate.

krazykatz911, sorry you've had such bad luck with the rebates. I've collected approximately $1500 in rebates from Staples this year and currently I'm waiting on another $280. I screwed up and sent in one to late and I've had to call them a couple times when something got fouled up but always found them very easy to deal with and eager to send the money. I ALWAYS keep photocopies of the receipts, UPC and rebate form.

I am with Elroy in my Staples rebate experience. So far a perfect 12 for 12! :D Of course, I wish some of them wouldn't take so long, but what can you do? Combining the rebates with the coupon codes is one way to some excellent deals. I have not had very good luck with the coupon codes at the local b&m store, but have had great luck on line, and with free delivery on purchases over $50 (before coupons and rebates, of course) there is really no reason not to order from their website. You can also file your rebate info on line as well and then just send in the prool of purchase and other info in the mail. Nice.

staples will match any price that you can find, as well give you 10% off demo items and otehr little things here and there, and also a little hint at my store anything over 100% if you say you saw it for 10 bucks cheaper 99.9999% of the time they wont ask where they just give you the 10 bucks off.... its some silly 10 dollar rule of theres... hehehe dont tell anyone i told you this.

The monitor I referred to in the beginning of this post was purchased on 10-20-02 and I received the rebate today, 11-13-02.
24 days from purchase to receiving the rebate check. This is why I shop at Staples. Compare to Circuit City's 2 month wait. My $39 monitor is looking pretty good!

While our Staples staff sometimes a bit shy on tech know how and help I still shop there for service. Last year I returned a cdrom thirteen months after the purchase (not installed, kept paperwork) because a rebate just did not come through. I have also had them offer me instant rebates when they didnt' have any rebate forms available.
