Starting up computer

When I start my computer up I keep getting the message to uninstall or install the program connected to
C:Progra~2\ SYMANTEC\ SYMEVNT.386
I've looked in the registry and System.ini but there is no trace of this or anything that looks like it, is there anyway I can stop this from coming up.:t

This is a Norton file. Did you fully search thge registry for symvent.386? If you did and came up with zip I would re-install NAV (or whatever Norton prog you had installed) and then formally uninstall it.
