Problem With Win Explorer View?

I'm using Win 98 2nd ed (UK) and I have a problem with the views in Windows Explorer when you try to change the views (Large Icons, Small Icons, List & Details) you view all of them except the Details. When you click the details option you get a blank screen on the browser side everything else seems to be workiing OK. If anyone has any ideas on how to correct this, because its realy driving me up the wall.

I beleive the fix is to hold the CTRL (maybe alt or shift)key and hit the + plus key on the numeric keypad.
