My cpu is running at about 42c idle and 50 under full load is that safe?

Also what are some of your temps at?

Very typical and very safe! Sleep easy. My 2000+ runs about the same. Get's into the mid 50's when I overclock it. You have some temp room if you want to try to OC

My xp2000 maxes out at 42 C, but usually 40 C when under load.

I have a good HSF: Thermal Integration V77L, and 4 case fans. :)

Keep the load temps under 55 and you'll be good..

Under 50C and you're safe.

My XP1500@1.66GHz (10*166 and 1.85vCore), cooled by an Alpha PAL8045, rarely gets over 30C under load. It is fed by a duct from outside though.....:)

Those temps are fine. My bro's XP1800 runs at about the same temps, 42-43°C idle & 48-49°C full load. My P4 runs at about 28-29°C idle and 33-34°C load.

I know huh? :D But hey, the original poster asked :) Besides, your temps are pretty **** good, especially since it's an Athlon and all....;)

Yea, but I will be honest I have a fan right above the CPU, in my case. :D

Hey, whatever gets the job done. :) It took about 5 case fans w/stock cooler just to get my bro's XP1800 down to 42-43°C. I think it was running at about 49-50°C idle w/stock cooler alone, but I told him that he would be ok with those temps regardless. I dunno, he's gets really anal about certain things.

lol, 5 fans only getting it that cool? Does he live with old people? I ask this as it must be like 100 degrees in there, :p ;)

My Xp 1900+ runs at 31C idle and 36C full load on a hot day in Brisbane.
I have a very nice watercooling system

He has it in the garage because he really doesn't have any extra space left in the house. But yeah, it gets pretty hot in there. Anyway, it's his comp so I don't really care what he does with it. As long as it works....

hmm, mine's at about 47 when it "wakes up," 52C when just surfing and around 56-57 on full load (it's OC'd but not by much). Too high, or is it just paranoia around here? It runs a lot cooler with a different fan, but it's 8000RPM sounds like a jet on takeoff, so I can't take it. My case temp is 31C, so that's not the problem. This is one of those "stealth" fans and an SVC copper HS, so I'm thinking maybe there's a problem. Should I try to reseat my HS on the chip? I just hate doing it, such a pain...

58C is ok, but I wouldn't overclock any more with that temp.
