Abbreviation of Messaging Application Programming Interface, a system built into Microsoft Windows that enables different e-mail applications to work together to distribute mail. As long as both applications are MAPI-enabled, they can share mail messages with each other.

Extract a new one from the cab files. I believe older versions of Netscape would write their own version of mapi32.dll to the drive, mayhaps another program you installed has done this?

have you changed a mode of your mail program lately - for example letting Netscape be your simple mapi client?

you can try running fixmapi from the run command under windows. This may fix it. If you have Outlook and run it or change its mode this will also change the version of your mapi32.dll file. There are several different versions of ms exchange (mapi or windows messaging etc depending on your software configuration.)

i was thinking about what i've installed recently, and I can't think of anything that would even affect my mail program. I don't use netscape or outlook (neither are even installed). strage though, cause it doesn't seem to even effect my email anyway...
