Not sure if this should be posted in this section but here goes.

I want to purchase a webcam for videophone and quick snapshots to e-mail. A digital camera is of no use because I do not like taking pictures. I don't want to spend over $100 (prefer $60 to $75) but the more I read the more confused I get. Some seem to work with certain OS while others don't.

I have a Celeron 633, WindowsME (I think it was upgraded from 98 by manu.), and 128 megs. I have made a list of some I am interested in: 3Com HomeConnect and 3Com HomeConnect Lite, Kodak DVC325, Intel PC Camera Pro and Intel PC Camera, Xirlink PC Camera Pro Max, and Logitech QuickCam Pro USB.

The 3Com HomeConnect is a little expensive but it doesn't say it is WindowsME compatible and I would be interested in the Lite version but I am not sure what it lacks that the expensive one has. My second choice is Intel Camera Pro PC but I can get the Xirlink PC Camera Pro Max for $39.99 (after a $50 Rebate).

Can anyone offer their opinion or suggestion. I have never used one of these and just want to make a good choice
