This is my first Athlon chip so I'm not positive of the operating temperatures of the chips. My currently is running at 48-51 deg C. Is this within the specs? I bought a retail box with the retail fan. I do have a golden orb to put on if necessary>

seems like a normal temp for a retail HSF, tbirds are rated up to 85c. do not put the gorb on it, its not designed for socket a and you could crush the core real easily.
