Well, actually they said "Yes" to Linux Article is here. (http://www.wired.com/news/politics/0,1283,42456,00.html)

In the article they claim that switching to Linux in the schools has already saved them $3,000,000

Another related note: BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit) of California is now running Linux in its Operations Control Center, located in Oakland. The software is run 24/7 and used to monitor the traction power electrification display so next time you hop on the light rail train in the bay area don't forget to thank the penguin. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif

Sounds like the whole world is banning Microsoft. This is too funny. I don't think their products are that bad but I guess people got tired of their monopolistic business model.

Microsoft wanted to work out a deal with my school (University of Maryland), where each student would pay $20 for access to microsoft software. I mean every student would have to pay whether they accessed the software or not.
Sound monopolistic to you?
The movement was easily killed by petitions.
