How can I find out what type of
RAM is in my machine as I have lost
all info for the mother board etc

Pull a stick of RAM and note all the numbers and other data. If you're lucky, the manufacturer's mark will be recognizable ~ MT for Micron Technologies, etc. Go to their site if it is, and search on the part number. It usually is the longest character string. Other data are date codes and batch numbers.

Otherwise, do a web search using www.dogpile.com (http://www.dogpile.com) 's multiple parallel search engines. Product info will include type ~ EDO, FPM etc.
